BJA FY24 Adult Treatment Court Solicitation

The U.S. Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) announced its Adult Treatment Court Program for FY 2024. The grant program provides financial and technical assistance to states, state courts, local courts, units of local government, and federally recognized Indian tribal governments to plan, implement, and enhance the operations of adult treatment courts. This includes management and service coordination for treatment court participants, fidelity to the adult treatment court model, and recovery support services.

Treatment court models eligible for funding include adult drug courts, impaired driving (DWI/DUI) treatment courts, co-occurring courts, and tribal healing to wellness courts. Note: The veterans treatment court solicitation will be announced separately.

Applicants are required to complete a two-step submission process; more information can be found on page 6 of the Notice of Funding Opportunity.

About the Grant Program

The BJA Adult Treatment Court Program is designed to support adult treatment courts in the following categories:

  • Category 1: Planning and Implementation Grants
    • Award amount: $900,000 each
    • Award period: 48 months
  • Category 2: Enhancement Grants
    • Award amount: $1,000,000 each
    • Award period: 48 months
  • Category 3: Statewide Grants
    • Award amount: $2,500,000 each
    • Award period: 48 months
