Re-entry Court is a collaborative type program for individuals who have been released from prison, have violated a term or condition of parole, have a history of substance abuse disorder, and/or a history of mental health illness. A multidisciplinary team including a case manager, parole agent, judicial officer, public defender/private attorney, and a district attorney support the participant through the program. Successful completion of re-entry court can result in early discharge from parole.
The Goals of Re-Entry Court are to:
provide treatment rather than incarceration for parole violations;
reduce incarceration and recidivism; and
increase treatment, stability and community safety.
